Wedding FAQ

What is your style?

My photography is a blend of natural, timeless portraits and organic, documentary style moments. Your final images will represent your wedding at its finest, capturing all the excitement, emotion and genuine moments exactly as they happened. My background in shooting equestrian sports is reflected in my wedding photography, which means I’m sometimes often photographing from a distance and blending into the crowd as I capture all of those beautiful raw moments. Many of my clients are amazed at the moments I catch that they weren’t even aware were happening on the day!

What happens if it rains?

You can’t control the forecast, but you can prepare for it! Rain on your wedding day shouldn’t be doom and gloom – I’ve captured some beautiful and unique rainy day portraits in the past and am always ready to embrace the natural elements. My gear is completely weather sealed and even includes a couple of clear umbrellas for your portraits, so as long as you’re up for it I’ll be able to capture your day, as it was.

Can you help us with our timeline for the day?

I sure can! I know how new and overwhelming wedding planning can be and by now, I have a good understanding of how to best plan your day. Let me know if you need a few ideas for timeline variations to help your wedding run smoothly and maximise your photo opportunities.

Do you provide video as well as photography?

Weddings are busy events with so much action, so I prefer to focus on my photography to ensure all of those special moments are captured in images. However, I have worked with some awesome videographers who I’d happily recommend.

How many images will we receive?

This depends on the package you choose and the style of your wedding – they are all so different! A larger, busier wedding with lots happening will usually result in more photos compared to a smaller, more intimate wedding with a relaxed vibe. There is no limit on how many images I’ll deliver so you’ll receive all of the ones I deem worthy!

How long until we receive our images after the wedding?

You’ll get a sneak peek of your wedding images within 48 hours after your big day, so you can share some photos with friends and family right away. The full gallery will be yours within 8 weeks.

Can we view whole galleries?

Yes, and I highly recommend doing this to get a feel for my work, and all the amazing moments I will be able to capture at your own wedding. Let me know and I’ll send you some links to previous clients’ galleries so you can view a whole wedding day from start to finish, not just the highlight shots.

Can we order an album?

Your images will no doubt look amazing on your Instagram, but I’m a firm believer that photos from your day aren’t meant to live on a screen! Fine art, heirloom quality wedding albums can be added on to any package, are designed to last a lifetime and are handcrafted here in New Zealand by Queensberry. Just choose some of your favourite images of the day and I will take care of the rest!

How do we book?

Once we’ve had a chat and you’ve chosen me to be a part of your special day (thanks!) you’ll need to sign a contract and pay a deposit to officially confirm your booking. I don’t take ‘pencil’ bookings, so once your date is reserved I’ll turn away all other potential work for that day. Please keep in mind I limit the number of weddings I take on each year, and often book out 12 months in advance, so get in touch as soon as possible to ensure your date is still available.
